Harvey Water Softeners

Harvey Water Softeners

I can supply and fit Harvey Water Softeners as well as others. Harvey’s twin tank, non electric design is very compact but never runs out of softening capacity because it uses a twin tank design. As one tank needs to regenerate the other tank continues to soften your water. This means no electronics or timers are needed to run this machine, it uses water pressure to drive the gears and operate. Just fill with 2 blocks of salt once a month

The Harvey’s machine is compact and fits in most kitchen cupboards. It can be fitted from half a day depending on how complex. Sometimes we fit a boiling water system as part of the installation. These can be fed with soft or hard water depending on customer wishes. The picture is a ‘Quettle’ boiling water system alongside a Harvey’s water softener.

If space within the kitchen is an issue, these can be installed on an outside wall, in an insulated box.

When the water main comes into the house too far away from the kitchen to provide hard drinking water, a reverse osmosis system can provide the drinking water by removing the sodium from softened water.

The standard Harvey’s twin tank softener will provide enough flow for a large family home. However larger projects can be catered for; Harvey’s also produce larger machines for homes with more than four bathrooms or, as in this case a large hot tub.

Why Harvey’s machine over other water softeners?

There are three categories of softener available in the market

  1. The basic electric timer models. These have one softening cylinder and regenerate themselves during the night by using a timer.
  2. Metered, electric timer models. These are also single cylinder but they can measure the water being used so they can judge more accurately when to regenerate.
  3. Metered, twin cylinder models. These only regenerate when necessary, they don’t need power and are always working to soften your water.
  • The Harvey water softener has been designed specifically for British plumbing systems.
  • It is the only softener with displacement metering. This counts every drop of water so that regeneration takes place exactly at the right time with no waste of salt.
  • It avoids any electronic or electromechanical valves and timers.
  • The mechanism is driven by the energy from your incoming water so when you are on holiday and not using water it sits and waits.
  • Dual tanks means the system is always working even when regenerating one tank.
  • Harvey’s dual tank system works in parallel so that flow rates are improved. The Dual Flow softener can deliver 50 litres per min.
  • Harvey Softener models are available for houses up to 3 bathrooms, 3 to 5 bathrooms and above 5 bathrooms (and some commercial applications such as dairies)
  • The Harvey softener is a class leading product. It is British designed, manufactured and supported.
